Reading: Your Ticket to the Greatest Show on Earth!

We invite all families to participate in this event that promotes literacy and raises funds to support the Claremont PTA. The Claremont PTA Annual Read-A-Thon will begin on Monday, February 14th! The Read-A-Thon is one of Claremont’s biggest fundraisers and with your help, the PTA hopes to make it a great success this year. The money collected from the Read-A-Thon will come back to our school community and it will be used to assist both teachers and students and support the various programs and activities sponsored by the PTA.
The Read-A-Thon is easy and fun, and we encourage every student and family to participate and help make this year’s Read-A-Thon a huge success!

How Does it Work?
In the packet (link below), you and your child will find all you need to make this happen! First, encourage your student(s) to read as much as possible. Fill out the reading log each day using the paper or online catalog. Second, go to https://pledgestar.com/claremont/ to create your fundraising and reading log pages. Students earn prizes both for reading and for fundraising.

Kindergarten-2nd Grade * 250 minutes: Claremont Big Top Readers Club and backpack keychain or fidget** * 400 minutes: Claremont branded t-shirt or water bottle (student choice) * 600 Minutes: PE fun with the PE Team * Raise $300 or Read 800 minutes: Movie Night at CIS: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted * Top Reader and Fundraiser for Each Grade: $10 Rocket Fizz gift card, Claremont elevator ride, lunch with the principal, and an art party |

** "Ticket" included in the read-a-thon packet must be turned in to the office by March 2nd to receive this prize. Lost prizes or prizes damaged by students may not be replaced.**
For reach grade, the top reading class will have a circus theme snack party, and the teacher will receive $25 gift card to Lakeshore Learning or Really Good Stuff.
If the school reads a total of 500,000 minutes or greater, Dr. Panfil and Ms. Wales-Smith will wear a circus outfit and serve cotton candy to all students.
